RECIPES FOR PREVENTION: SCHOOL FOR ORPHANS

ICARE volunteers, a group of active young dentists hosted the first ever prevention programme at Imamen Jawaden orphanage and school in Baghdad, Iraq. We served 112 children with an educational show about how to look after their oral health, correct brushing techniques and frequency as well as the importance of healthy eating and which foods they should avoid. We then gave each child an ICARE prevention pack with a tooth brush, tooth paste, dental floss, two kids educational brochures (in Arabic) and a gift toy.We had an absolute blast launching this project. The kids enjoyed it as much as we did! They were jumping and joining in the teaching session with questions, answers and commentary!
