Family is living in extreme poverty in a makeshift home in the slums of Baghdad. Six children household, with one of the children being raised by neighbours as the family can not afford daily living costs. Father is elderly and unable to work.Mother is afflicted by cancer.
Medical Condition:
Abas was admitted to hospital due to a severe case of generalised odema (swelling). He was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome which is a nonspecific disorder in which the kidneys are damaged, causing them to leak large amounts of protein from the blood into the urine. Abas needs continued medical treatment which his family, living in extreme poverty, simply can not afford. ICARE helped raise funds for Abas to receive much needed medical aid and be on the path to recovery.
