Teeba suffers from facial trauma and disfigurement caused by a terrorist attack six years ago. She is now afraid to smile and to be seen out in public. Nevertheless, Teeba is an ambitious girl, loving life and is committed to achieving her dream to complete her education and to be a teacher in the future. Unfortunately Teeba's family are impoverished and are unable to afford facial reconstructive surgery.

I CARE's team of volunteers are working around the clock taking Teeba to specialists physicians and surgeons in Baghdad with the intent of giving Teeba the treatment she desperately needs to get her life back on track. Our team of medical staff are following her case and supervising her progress. In Teeba's case treatment will likely need to be done in two stages : dental Implants (she has lost all of her top front teeth) and then facial plastic surgery. We can't wait to see Teeba Smiling again!
