YOU DONT HAVE TO BE A DOCTOR TO SAVE LIVES

MINISTRY OF HEALTH AWARD

Dr. Shahad's achievement caught the attention of local and national media including Iraqi TV channels.

ICARE's Dr. Shahad Al Ebadi was given the honour of being invited to speak at the fourth annual Ministry of Health Congress in Al Kirkh, Iraq. Dr. Shahad spoke eloquently about the changing face of healthcare in Iraq. By using her work with ICARE as an example she addressed and enlightened an audience captivated by her message. She spoke of how technology and the use of social media and the idea of caring collectively can and do provide a means to change the Iraqi healthcare system for the better. Particularly for its children. She inspired many junior doctors at the congress who have since changed their outlook on how society can affect health and what lay people can do to improve the health of their communities simply by caring!

Dr. Shahad was presented with a prestigious award from the Ministry for her outstanding contribution not only to the congress but to the medical and dental field in general and to the future of health in Iraq.We couldn't be more proud!
