YOU DONT HAVE TO BE A DOCTOR TO SAVE LIVES

From HUNGER TO HEALTH

ICARE's from Hunger to Health project aims to improve the health status of Iraqi children and their families by providing freedom from hunger. Poverty stricken Iraqi's and internally displaced Iraqi refugees living in villages and makeshift housing on the outskirts of main cities are suffering from chronic hunger and malnutrition. Sick children are unable to get better and often have impaired physical and mental development due to lack of food and regular nutritious meals. Many families lack basic supplies like stoves and refrigerators deeming them unable to prepare or store food safely.

Our Hunger to Health programme provides healthy food parcels and nutritious meals to suffering Iraqi children and their families. Health packs are also distributed which include general and oral health products and first aid kits. The programme includes education on healthy food habits, disease prevention and diet related illnesses such as diabetes. As well as education on safe & hygienic food preparation and storage. Wherever needed, ICARE will also install kitchen equipment including stoves, refrigerators and provide clean water facilities.

"How can we expect our children to heal, develop and grow when they are suffering from chronic hunger and malnutrition? They simply wont."
