ICARE's wonderful team of volunteers in Al Anbar succeed in putting smiles on impoverished children's faces with our aid and recipes for prevention programme "we are all one" for displaced families and refugees. 

 

Political unstability has seen an increase in the number of refugees in Anbar, families forced to leave everything behind and unable to return to their homes. An estimated 3000 people are living in makeshift refugee camps and resettlement blocks in Hit district. These families and children lack basic necessities from bedding to toiletries increasing the risk of hygiene related diseases. ICARE's Anbar team ran a health promotion/ disease prevention educational programme as well as distributed bedding, blankets and health packs to a number of families living in a school courtyard.
